PM statement condemns Mugabe

There are some western leaders who have been reticent to speak out against Mugabe on account of our own sad colonial history. They have preferred only to be seen to follow African leaders' condemnation of the horrific illegal regime in Zimbabwe. For myself two wrongs never did make a right. Just because we have a history which is far from perfect so that is no reason to stand by in silence now while another crime of similar magnitude is committed. Please Petition PM To Act Now For Zimbabwe

There is a petition asking the UK Prime Minister to "bring real international pressure to bear..." on the current regime in Zimbabwe. At present it only has 19 signatures. I can only think that is because people do not know about it.

Please consider whether to sign the petition.

Post election feedback

In the light of post election persecution of teachers who ran poll stations returning the "wrong" results in Zimbabwe's recent elections, I have just asked our Prime Minister if he is going to invite pupils worldwide to write to Robert Mugabe expressing concern for:

  • teachers in fear of their lives,
  • pupils who miss learning, and
  • exams that cannot be run even.
