It is not everyday you come across a good school idea browsing gMaps.

So I was checking out the road number feature on Google maps when I came across this YouTube video.

Youtube has been around for a little while and I have seen plenty of videos on blogs like this over the years, but I have never seen it so intuitively linked in to another internet service like google maps that I use all the time. Anyway being curious I clicked the play button and I have to say our local grammar school does get one or two things right. This AGS Prospectus video is one of them. In this article I you clan play the video and I ask how we could do something similar to introduce newcomers to our local squash club, church, running club, or whatever....

By all means check the video out. But if you have more than a couple of moments I would be really interested if you could do some homework for me. As you watch the video could you make a note of how would you organise it if you were going to use something similar to give newcomers an idea of what life is like at your local squash club, church, running club, or whatever.... Now it has to be said this is pretty marvellous advertising that integrates well into pretty much any website.

If you are interested in doing something along these lines at Holy Trinity (my local church) and do not already have another job (or two) at said place of worship, then I would be really pleased to hear from you. I guess I should say you don't have to belong to the church -- you might be a student looking for a really interesting project -- or a professional wanting to give something back to the community. If you are interested just give a bit of thought to who you would shoot, what kind of thing they would talk about, and where. Then drop me a line. With a bit of planning and time on our side this stuff does get easy -- go on you know you want to.
